Evening return to beach hotel en route visit Turtle Farm in Kosgoda (30 mts)
Turtle Hatchery - Where you can see several species of turtles, specially the hawksbill, are endangered. Most vulnerable of all are their eggs, which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. The good will of the area fishermen, who brings these eggs gratis to the hatchery, has led to the hatching and release of 100,000 young turtles in only two years since the hatchery opened.

Colombo - A drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah - the commercial area of the city and tree-lined. Colombo 07 Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5, 8 are the prime residential area of the City.
Visit Fort, and Pettah for Shopping. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith's shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal, dating back to 1749. The historic Davatagaha Mosque, Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H, and Museum are

Colombo National Museum - Albert Crescent, Colombo 07. Established 1877. Best known for collection of antiques and objects dart. Over 500,000 publications of Sari Lanka. More than 4,000 palm lead manuscripts. Among the exhibits are the regalia of the Kind of Kandy; ancient and medieval jewellery; rate collection of traditional demon masks; wood and ivory carvings, an exquisite collection of Buddhist and Hindu (App:01hrs).

Sinharaja Forest - Sinharaja can be reached from Colombo through Mathugama ( 117km) or Ratnapura ( 154 km ) to Kalawana and Weddagala and from there to Kudawa Camp ( 5.6 km ) or from Galle to Deniyaya and Mederpitiya ( 10km ) and walk 3 kms cross Gin-ganga to reach Pitadeniya Camp. The best period to visit the forest is between December to early April or from August to September.
A world heritage site (1989 ) covering 11,187 hectares. The vegetation is tropical wet evergreen forest. Out of the 331 woody trees and lianas identified 192 are endemic at Sinharaja. Fauna, recorded in the Sinharaja 65 Butterflies, 10 Fishes, 19 Amphibians, 14 Tetrapods, 29 Reptiles and Snakes, 141 Birds and 40 mammals. Sinharaja is a nature lovers paradise. (App 02 2 Hrs). Ready for white water rafting on the Kelani River.
This high adrenalin adventure on the white water section of the Kelani river, is suitable or first time “go for it” rafters and experts alike. During the run, you will experience the thrill of shooting rapids and the euphoria of making it through. The rivers clear water in born in the heart of the peak wilderness reserve and tumbles through a rocky gorge just above Kitulgala.
As the river widens, you pass the scenic location used for the film “The Bridge on the River Kwai” which is also a good place to jump for a refreshing swim.
Trip profile:1 1, hour rafting the white water section of the Kelani river. The boulders and rocks create grade 3-4 rapids, which are exhilarating
and very scenic. The run requires some physical effort and all rafters should be able to swim. A full trip briefing is given prior to running the river, with instructions on paddling techniques and man overboard procedure.

Sigiriya - is home to the 5th Century Fortress in the Sky which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple-moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour. Evening climb Adams Peak,
Adams Peak - All four major religions of Sri Lanka claim Adams Peak as a holy mountain. Buddhists call the mountain Sri Pada (the sacred footprint) and say it was visited by Gautama Buddha himself. To Hindus, the peak called Shivan Adipatham ( the creative dance of Shiva) preserves Lord Shivas footprint. Muslims insist it is the place where Adam first set foot on earth and Roman Catholics say the footprint impressed in the boulder at the summit in that of St. Thomas, the early Christian apostle who preached in South India. Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage - started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded, the orphanage has grown to be a big family today. The number of elephants has increased to more than 40 now, including baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as the babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme. Kandy - the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession.

Day 02: KANDY NUWARA ELIYA WADDUWA /BERUWELA
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya visiting a tea estate & factory en route.
Nuwara Eliya - The Little England of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night.
All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.
